VHEST study is fully sponsored by Ibn-Alhaytham Pharmaceutical Industry, a well known generic pharma company in Syrian Arab Republic. Ibn-Alhytham was established in 2000, and the new marketing team took position in September 2004. During the last years, Ibn-Alhaytham Pharmaceutical Industry showed a sharp increase in the sales growth on an average of 40% / year. This is the first study in Syria that includes a wide range of medical physicians - one hundreds - from all the major cities in syria. VHEST study will recruite 1500 hypertensive patients according to certain inclusion and exclusion criteria.
